PVC Backer Board

Backer Boards are bonded to the back of foam to add rigidity.

This is helpful when storing foam boards vertically, mounting the foam vertically, or for simply ensuring the foam lays flat on a table. Backer boards also protect the foam, and make the shadow board application stronger and more durable. When a shadow board is not inside a case or tool box application, adding a backer board can ensure the board’s safety.

We use black PCV for our backer boards because, like the foam, it is not affected by moisture and can be easily cleaned. The standard backer board is Black PVC and is 1/4″ in depth.

Here at OSAAP, we stock sheets of black PVC boards and cut them down to size for each shadow board that requests it.
